I haven’t exercised for years and I’m a bit overweight. Can I join Viva Fit?
You can join any of our fitness groups. Viva Fit is suitable for people of all fitness levels and designed to improve fitness with a wide range of fun activities and exercises. Viva Night Fit is a friendly group, focusing on improving fitness and health via brisk walking sessions. Alternatively, you could start off with some Viva One on One sessions, which are tailor made to help achieve individual health and fitness goals.
Do I need to book for the groups?
There is no need to make bookings for Viva’s fitness sessions, but, it is recommended you contact one of our coaches so they know to look for you, and can ascertain your requirements before the start of the session.
How big are your fitness groups?
Our groups are relatively small so we can provide all our participants with the support they need to enjoy their training and achieve their fitness goals. We take a maximum of 15 participants, so we recommend you arrive on time, so as not to be disappointed by missing the session.
Do you provide childcare facilities?
Viva Living Fitness doesn’t offer childcare. Some Viva Fit participants bring their children to the oval, but this is always with the understanding that they themselves are responsible for the welfare of their children.
Viva Fit groups are held outdoors. Do they go ahead in wet weather?
We always take weather circumstances into account when preparing our fitness sessions and our sessions go ahead in most weather conditions, except when being outdoors is unsafe.
My 15 year old daughter and I took up running 6 months ago. Can we both join Viva Fit?
Yes you can both attend and are both encouraged to. Exercising with family members is a great way to fit in quality time – and a little friendly competitive spirit to the training.
Can I use Viva Kids as an alternative to After School Care?
You most certainly can, even though we are not an after school care facility as such. Viva Kids is held straight after school within the school’s playground, so parents whose children are registered with Viva Kids can pick up their children from school an hour later. For some children this might mean that they can come to Viva Kids instead of After School Care.
My child does not like sports at all - should he join Viva Kids?
Not all children like the idea of competitive sports and some feel overwhelmed by the notion that they have to be “good” at something. But Viva Kids is designed to build aerobic fitness and body strength and to develop a range of ball and running skills. Viva Kids is ideal for children who want to try out different sports and become more confident in a range of games. We don’t focus on competition but instead concentrate on team spirit and leadership skills.
Do Viva Kids groups go ahead in wet or hot weather?
It is very important to take weather circumstances into account when preparing fitness sessions for children, so we are lucky we are able to use the covered areas in the schoolgrounds during wet and hot weather.
On hot days the activities offered are much less vigorous than in cooler weather and will take place in the shade as much as possible. In wet weather we move activities to the covered areas. Viva Kids always goes ahead unless the weather is unsafe.
Can children from other schools attend Viva Kids?
Absolutely. Children from other schools are more than welcome to attend Viva Kids.
My children have so much fun at Viva Kids, I would love to become involved. How do I go about it?
If you would like to work as a Viva Kids coach, contact us at the conclusion of your child’s session, or else by email, so we can answer all your questions and let you know our requirements for working with Viva.
Do you cater for children with special needs?
Viva Kids sessions are inclusive and we aim to cater for children of all needs. Contact us to discuss your child’s specific needs.
Do my children need a uniform for Viva Kids?
There is no uniform for Viva Kids. We recommend that children wear comfortable shoes for running and bring a hat and a full water bottle.
